YMC has its presence in Jammu and Kashmir from 2003. Since the time of the Uri earthquake in the year 2005, it has been working for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of the earthquake by organising several campus training programmes with women tailoring, making of gabba (floor mats), paper mache products and bags, marigold cultivation as well as establishing and running a dairy and gobar gas plant.

YMC's local branch in Jammu is now holding a training- cum- income generating project for 100 women at their Jammu Nagarotha center. This facility has been made possible with funds donated by the employees and management of Sandvik Asia. The training campus was visited by the Managing Director of Sandvik Asia Shri P Satpute and his wife on 17.02.2016. They were taken around by the Heads of Self help Groups, which were formed by the YMC. The Sarpanch Shri Wazir, ex MP Shri Sheikhsahab, Brig. ATalwar, Shri V. S. Bagul, State Director KVIC and a few other local authorities were also present during their visit. Some of the photos taken on the occasion are given hereunder:
