To mark 70 years of Independence and 75 years of the Quit India Movement, The Wire, an Online Journal, spoke to four freedom fighters from Maharashtra, remnants of a vanishing tribe. Besides, a well-attended meeting was held on August 9, 2017, at the Seva Sadan Society Hall in Grant Road West, Mumbai to celebrate the 75 years of the Quit India Movement under the aegis of the Yusuf Meherally Centre and the Rashtra Seva Dal. It was attended, among others, by four Freedom Fighters from Maharashtra:
